The 2nd Amendment Mug
A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.
Some people believe the words of James Madison are open to interpretation. In their opinion the Second Amendment doesn’t mean Americans should be allowed to keep and bear just any arms – only the ones the state will let them have. Also, they get to choose exactly which arms you’re allowed to have.
Other people (and we’re assuming you’re one of them because why else would you be here) think Madison meant exactly what he wrote: A free state needs a well regulated militia, and a well regulated militia need arms, so the free state keeps its grubby mitts off of the guns.
The Bill of Rights doesn’t grant you any rights. It acknowledges that you have them by sheer virtue of being alive. If you somehow think this means the government has the authority to take those rights away, then you can go right back to your soy latte.
The Second Amendment shouldn’t be the most important amendment. But as the one under heaviest attack, we have to pull together for it. Show your support with this handsome mug. In hundreds of little guns it spells out 2nd, making your stance on preserving our rights closed to interpretation.
